About Cece

a bit of background

Cece was born on the 3rd of December to a Malaysian-Chinese father and a Japanese mother (aka Papa Chong and Junko Mama) and was raised in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which is still the family’s home base (i.e. Chong Central haha). She is the younger, sometimes dutiful but mostly useless little sister to ‘D’ who is currently in Adelaide. In 2008, there was a new addition to the clan in the form of a yorkie pup, named Nikki She is small, too cute and very excitable – any interaction will send her into an espresso exuberance – which keeps Papa Chong and Junko Mama very much in joy.

Her childhood (which hasn’t quite ended yet) was a very happy, sheltered and fun one.  She saw glimpses of the different worlds and cultures from tagging along family travels; and is very grateful for those opportunities and experiences.  Cece also has a deep deep love for Sapporo, Japan (her mother’s hometown and home to her loving grandparents).  She often retreats back to Chong Central (emotionally and physically) as there is something about that facility that promotes sanity and security in this big-bad world.

education

Cece attended Villa Maria kindergarten and still watches the video tapes of her friends from kindy to laugh hysterically about what silly little kids they were. She then went through the Malaysian government’s public school system (SK Bukit Damansara – primary ; SMK Seri Hartamas – secondary school);  then studied summore for her London Edexcel A-levels at HELP University College (the acronym stands for Higher Education Learning Program -  but it sounds like a name for a  mental institution..HELP!) where she made some of the most precious friendships to date.

She is currently studying happily in Melbourne, Australia about all things to do with the environment and engineering.  (So if you are ever in Melbourne, give her a ring!). And yes, Cece did feel very stupid referring to herself in the third person as she was writing this short bio.

**if you knew me from school, you would have known Terri too. Shortly after I started this new blog, my dog Terri passed away peacefully overnight in her sleep (25th March, 2008). Thanks for all the calls, msgs, emails etc. I’m doing ok
